The kind of resident I want in my training program is someone who can reach deep down inside themselves and tell me a story. I feel this way because I believe that kind of person has the best chance of staying engaged and not burning out during his or her residency training. Lately, I have become very intrigued with the role of storytelling in healthcare

Perhaps another possibility is that he cannot handle the specter of unpleasant emotions that arise in an un-winnable situation. Simulation training may be popular Starfleet, but it is also becoming commonplace in the healthcare field
