I have served as the Director for the Tulane Sim Center since it's inception in January 2009. I have a BA in Communications from Loyola University, a MA in Media Studies, from the New School in New York, and a MPH in Global Environmental Health and Disaster Management from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
I came to simulation from the corporate business world and bring to my role and the industry deep experience with business development, marketing, business strategic planning, and budgeting and forecasting. I have led the Tulane Sim Center to successfully achieving average year over year growth of 21% revenue and 15% total learners. I am responsible for mission driven direction, client mix, personnel, finances, and operations.
The center supports faculty in medical and interprofessional education for UME, GME and CME, curriculum development, faculty development, grant management and research design. I support data driven QI to meet or exceed accreditation and certification standards. I plan and design all business development strategies, represent the Sim Center to outside health professionals and industry and am Chair or Vice Chair on multiple international association committees, including Vice Chair for the SSH Finance and Audit Committee and Co-Chair for the Administration and Management Committee of the American College of Surgeons Accredited Education Institutes Consortium.
