Dr. Robyn MacSorley has experience in adult-health nursing, pediatric nursing, emergency department, and internal medicine clinic nursing. Dr. MacSorley obtained her baccalaureate nursing degree in 1992, her masters of nursing education in 2010, and a Ph.D. in nursing education and administration in 2016. She began her teaching career in 2008, teaching in practical nursing and then in 2011 at the baccalaureate nursing levels. She presently serves as an Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Skills and Simulation at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) School of Nursing since 2015.
She is a member of the Mississippi Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Theta Beta Chapter, Society in Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), and International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL). She has served and continues to serve on various committees at the school, university, and state levels. She presently serves on the UMMC School of Nursing Alumni Association Board, the UMMC Interprofessional Simulation, Training, Assessment, Research and Safety (ISTARS) Directors Subcommittee, and the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Committee. She is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) since 2018. Her clinical interests include adult health and clinical simulation.
