Bio

Dr. Tiffani Chidume has more than 25 years of combined experience in nursing education, critical care, emergency nursing, long-term care, and health information technology. She is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Auburn University College of Nursing. Dr. Chidume has worked in healthcare simulation for over eleven years and is nationally recognized for her expertise in simulation design, implementation, and debriefing. Dr. Chidume holds multiple professional certifications, including Critical Care Registered Nurse, alumnus (CCRN-K), Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator-Advanced (CHSE-A), and Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS). She is an active member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) and the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), where she serves on diversity committees for both international organizations. She is also the founder of SSH’s Inclusive Simulation and Mentoring (InSiM) Affinity Group, which supports underrepresented professionals in simulation through structured mentorship and community building. In addition to her academic and professional leadership, Dr. Chidume is a content writer for HealthySimulation.com, where she translates simulation research and best practices into practical guidance for educators and simulation professionals worldwide. Her research interests include simulation methodology, virtual reality, telehealth, interprofessional education, fall prevention and awareness in older adults, and innovative approaches to learner-centered education. She has published extensively in nursing education, critical care, and simulation science. Dr. Chidume is the recipient of the 2024 INACSL Academic Excellence Award and the 2024 INACSL Research Excellence Award. She was inducted as a Fellow of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare Academy, Class of 2026.
