The Rule states that it takes about 10,000 hours of deliberate practice to become an expert in a task...However, from personal experience, I find that there may be some merit to the Rule when it applies to Healthcare

Hello Colleagues, Is anyone having ongoing problems with the HPS CAE when connected to a vent?
1 Comment - Hi Cecilia, We have an older HPS and it has glitches every so often, but we know workarounds due to calling support and them walking us through fixes
Most simulations manage to put participants in the upper right-hand quadrant, somewhere between "happy" and "alert," and occasionally into the "tense" area. It seems that healthcare simulation is unique in that in addition to teaching points and facts, a layer of emotional activation interweaves which more strongly imprints the lessons of the simulation into the brains of the participants
2 Comments - My role on the Simulation Team at my university is to develop simulation content and collaborate with the classroom faculty to ensure our simulations align with their courses. It is the perfect job for me, and today I am truly realizing why that is and why I am so drawn to simulation
